NYE

Today or rather tonight will be New Years Eve.
But we start the day with, well sleeping long into the day. It takes some time till we get going. All we have to eat are some fruit loops.

So we decide to go to the mall to buy some food. Everything is a little chaotic, so we leave 2 people behind. After a few hundred meters a guy stops us on the street to give us a failing piece we need to install the gas for cooking. So we go back to leave the stove at the house and take the 2 left behind with us.

At the mall we buy all kinds of food, drinks, a ball to play. A little late, but they even have a cute Christmas coke girl there. Guess many people do not speak English here.

At home again we try to connect the gas, but the pipe and one of the connecting pieces do not work. So we go to the store to buy more tools, but without success. So the last option is to connect the gas directly to the stove.

Meanwhile some of others play soccer outside.

Oh I did not tell, but we are going to have Hamburgers.

So the first thing to do is to make a chilly sauce. ;)

heat the chillies

mix the chillies

add oil, salt and garlic

Meanwhile the guys are singing....
for those who cannot watch the video...

Meanwhile the Hamburgers are prepared.

on the left is Lazcano our cook ;)

For NYE we head to the beach. Tavo is already that drunk, that he wants to open the door of the van while driving to shout at people.

As always everything is really relaxed here in Mexico. To find a good spot for viewing the fireworks we just ask people for a good spot. It seems everyone is giving different directions, but we make our way.

Clark sets of to buy little fireworks, that we light and then hold in our hands just till they take off, so we throw them in the air with perfect timing. ;)

Just before midnight we form a circle to say our wishes for the next year.

We picked a good spot, fireworks are just fired about 20 meters from us.

as you see, the fireworks are just coming down right in front of us

view to the south of Manzanillo
After some time we make our way home. Most of us are wasted.
Tavo asks me to tell him which girl looks good, because he wants to talk to them for me.... haha He tells me, I just need to say "Hola bonita" or something and grab them at their hip. Because I'm exotic I they will not resist. hahaha What a thing to say.

To Manzanillo

Today we get up at 7:30 to drive to Manzanillo. It is a harbor and city in the west of Mexico. This time we have pancakes for breakfast.

A friend of Alvaro picks  up and we take a ride at the back of a pickup.

Next stop Clarks house. All the stuff that does not fit in the trunk is tied up to the top of the van. After some we all get into the van and want to take off. But the right back tire makes a strange noise. So we all get out and Clark drives around the block. So we switch places that the light guys sit in the far back.

It takes us about 4 hours to get to Manzanillo. All the guys are in really good mood and sing along the road. ;)

We arrive at the house which was painted a few weeks ago, so we start to clean the house. But up the beds and mattresses.

Hang the curtains.

Afterwards we go to the beach and swim, as it is so warm and sunny. ;)

On the way home we stop to have some tacos. I find it very interesting, that tacos are not folded but rolled here, with an open end. Did never expect that.

At home we drink corona, play cards and play a game, where the first one has to choose a topic and everyone has to tell a fitting word not yet said.
Making a mistake means you have to take a drink.

First day in Guadalajara

My first day starts with a short toasted baguette with bean paste and melted cheese. ;) yummy
Afterwards we take a walk into the downtown of Guadalajara.  It has a really nice relaxed flair. People are selling all kinds of stuff.

Hospicio Cabañas

Landmark and crest of Guadalajara

Teatro Degollado

Catedral de Guadalajara

Templo Expiatorio

Many people are walking around on this nice warm and sunny day. Many take pictures and it feels like being on vacation in Italy when I was a child. ;)
At last we are having a coffee at the place in front of where the last pic of the church was taken. Afterwards we take the bus home to Alvaros place.

For lunch we have Tortillas, Omelet and Jalapeños.

Afterwards I go to bed, as I'm sick...

To Mexico

This time my trip goes to Mexico to visit Alvaro and Tania.

So my first awesome => long day starts at 3:13 am at my parents house, as a whatsapp message wakes me up 2 minutes before my alarm clock was set to ring. As it is just a bit blow freezing and the streets are well salted, it is a easy drive to Vienna airport.
From there my trip goes to Frankfurt Germany. Because I travel to USA I need to have another security check there, and lucky me, they perform a random extra security check with my stuff. Then I'm questioned about all kinds of USA immigration stuff and have to wait to get a new boarding pass, as the one I already have is not valid.
The flight via American Airlines is quite nice. I talk the whole flight. The food is kinda ok for a flight. What I do not understand is, why I do need to have an ESTA and immigrate to the states. And because I fly to Mexico I was chosen for an additional security check. I told the guys that I my flight is going in a few minutes, and they just answered, that this is more important, I can get another flight.
Gladly my flight is delayed and the ground personal does not know when the plane will arrive. Also they have no idea, if I need to pick up my luggage and transfer it myself or whatever. So I used my time to find some free internet...
Before my 3rd flight I had my stuff already x-raided 4 times and 2 additional security checks.
