Last day in Mexico

So this is my last post of the Mexico trip... there are none to follow...

Today I have breakfast again. And I use my time to upload pics to the internet, so I cannot loose them. Well, don't feel to good though...

Later Tania and I go to the market. Where they sell all kinds of stuff, usually fake and cheap.

The market has 3 floors. But not at every part...

Tania tells me, that it is definitely a place where we will not eat, that even she would get sick here. ;)

I buy a banana for 1 peso.

Then we take a walk through the jewelery market and head through the down town. And had home...

Time for me to rest...

Lucha Libre in Guadalajara

Well, my day starts really bad, or rather would I say my night. I got food poisoning.... That is what you get from tasting everything, I guess. (One day later, Ricardo writes me, he is also feeling sick)

That's just how it goes. The original plan was, that we do Mexico City tourist bus tour... Change of plans. Everything is going super slow. Checking out at the hotel seems to be as complicated as checking in. But with Ricardos help everything works out.

Anyhow... I take a cab to the airport, fight with not falling asleep and all the other feelings I do not want to describe. I do not really know anything from my flight to Guadalajara, as I fall asleep instantly on the plain. Just got woken up to get something to drink and when the air plain was about to land.

Tania is already waiting outside of the airport and takes me hope to her place. There I sleep some more, till it is time for the Lucha Libre (wrestling).

As we have a huge traffic jam, it takes quite a while to get to the place. The area seems to be completely unsafe. A guy tells us where to park, as they want to make money, maybe also watching over the cars... Well, not 100% sure.

At the entrance we meet Carlos a friend of Tania. Who gets us cards for half price.

We are not allowed to bring cameras to the show, Tania has to return hers. Well, I have mine in my front pocket and no one wants to touch that region. ;)

Sadly I have to turn of the flash and make pics fast, so they pics are not really good. :(

Girls are standing in a row as the fighters march in.

Some wear crazy costumes. The one with the butterfly wings also has a little one with him. His finish move is to throw the little one up in the air down to his opponent. It seems that the bad guys are always on the left corner.

This one is super porky. I guess he is the most liked wrestler here in Guadalajara. But for most of the fighting he rests or jumps, sits on others... Oh and when I did move in, he did dance with some of the girls.

This one here is gay, when they won one of the matches, he gave the looser a kiss, while one of his team mates was holding the opponent.

There are 2 types of tickets, the ones in front with better seats and the ones in the back divided by a fence. So the once from the cheaper places start to cuss at the once with the better places. So the once where we sit start to scream back.

After a few fights the show is over.

with Tania and Elizabeth

Carlos and Carlos

Even outside the cussing does not stop. Now everyone and thing is cussed by the people. Everything puts on nice faces and is laughing. For me a really unusual thing to see.

Afterward Carlos is also coming to Tanias place. So we talk a bit. Tania and me go to the pharmacy to buy some medicine for me.
This night I shall sleep like a baby. ;)

Sun and Moon Pyramid, going out in Mexico City

So we arrive at a really weird bus terminal in Mexico City. Well actually, there is no terminal at all, just a few buses stand on the side of a street, doesn't looking very safe. Anyhow Ricardo and I make our way to the metro.

Down at the metro station we let the first 4 or 5 subways pass, because there is no way we could fit in there. We are glad, as one arrives, where we can stuff our back bags and our selves inside. ;)

We take the metro to Bellas Artes. As we walk around the place, I take my first picture of the day.

So we buy us a coffee and check in into the hotel. As always this is complicated. We already booked and payed for the rooms via internet, but they don't know anything about it, so we get out our laptops and show them our bookings...

I'm glad to have a nice room and tons of sleep, well at least for once... ;) So little did I know at that time...

After resting a bit, we head to the Bellas Artes again to meet with Paola, a friend of Ricardo. Hehe, the Mexican minutes come into account and advance to 1 1/2 hours of waiting. Well, the traffic was really bad too...

The Torre Latinoamericana is right at the corner of the square, where I got some shade. ;)

Before we head to the pyramids...

As we have a guide now, it is very easy to get to the pyramids. ;)

The pyramid of the sun is the 3rd largest pyramid in the world with a hight of about 65 - 71m. All sources I found state something different. And compared to many other pyramids, this one is in really in good shape. Oh I almost forgot to mention, it was originally build by the Maya, but abounded and later settled by the Aztecs. The city name is Teotihuacan, which means "the place were gods are born". The name used by the Maya is unknown.
Haha, and the pyramids has 5 leves now, originally it only had 4, they made a mistake when reconstructing... Well, the Mayas liked to redo or extend their pyramids, to make them bigger and bigger.
Well, I'm talking too much, lets have a look at the pics... I bet most of the people reading this blog are actually skipping this paragraph anyway... As many told me they are viewers not readers.... Haha as many would expect of me... Well, I only read something, if it is interesting... :D So now really enough the talk...

So there comes my most favorite pyramid in Mexico.

The best is, you can walk up all the way to the top. There used to be an altar form the Actecs, but it does not exist any more.

From the top of the pyramid you can see the pyramid of the moon.

Next stop, the pyramid of the moon. At other sites, the pyramids on the side would already be something to see, here it just adds to the flair... ;)

I have not figured out yet, but in the middle of a plaza in front of an pyramid, they always have a podium or stage.... Usually the acoustic there would be really good, as the Mayas took a lot of effort into that, but not here...

Haha, we made some really silly pics here, there, well everywhere...  Not sure if I should make them that public on a blog like that though... :D

The view from the moon pyramid, 1st level is amazing...

Do you see the path to the sun pyramid. You can also walk straight past it, about the same length, there you will get to the Cuidadela. The temple/palace there is really interesting. We did not go there, but if you are interested in Mayas, read about it. But do not bother reading the English version of Wikipedia, as it is really bad... Read the Spanish or German version, if you speak either one of the languages.

So we head back to the bus...

As Andrea, one of Paolas friends is already waiting at the bar, we decide to do the city tour tomorrow morning...

So we make our way back to the hotel to get ready for going out.

A trip with the taxi later we are at the bar. We start our night with drinks and food. Really a nice place. ;)

Ricardo, Coneja, Andrea, Andreas, Paola and Kari
The girls name sitting next to me is Andrea, so she is my tocaya, I guess who did not already figure out what that means, can use google translate or such... ;)
Well, after a really long time, last time was more then one year ago in Peru, someone is actually taking patience and time to talk to me in Spanish and trying to teach me new words... Sadly she cannot stay for too long, she has to get up at 5 am in the morning...

Everyone is doing poses and taking pics now and we start to dance between the tables... The crowd behind us will start to dance too... ;)

I was really dancing and jumping a lot. ;)

This time I got flowers... How nice can life be???

But I was not the only one. ;)

Then we head to Conejas place to feed the cats. She has 25, that is really a lot!

Last but not least, as usually when going out...

So one of my best days in Mexico has its end... Already extended for a bit... ;)

Chiapa de Corzo up to Mexico City

The night was kinda cold, not having a real blanket....

Heading out for breakfast... We buy some of those roles to taste them.

Breakfast...

On the way to the hostel... The city changes it's face at night and day. ;)

Ricardo is going to the canyon tour and I stay at hostel relaxing a bit.
It has 31°C, a really big difference to San Cristóbal.

Well, at 2pm I need to check out... One of the worst places I ever spend a night. But the people are very friendly and tell us, that there is a much cheaper bus up to Mexico City.

The rest of the day we spend to get to Tuxtla and taking the bus up to Mexico City. It is a big more then 12 hours bus ride. We were lucky, because we got the right most front seats, so I could stretch my legs. As Always it was super could on the bus, But I was prepared with 3 jackets.
