Grutas Mamut and Arcotete to Chiapas de Corzo

So today we head out to go to the Grutas de Mamut. We head to the Indian market region. As always it takes us some time to find our way. As we would need to take at least to buses to get to the caves, we take a taxi. He makes us an offer to take us to the caves and to a better site. So we agree. Oh with we I mean Gabi, Cristian, Ricardo and me.

At the cave there are no other tourists.

At the following pic you see, why they call it mamut cave. Well, as with everything, you need enough imagination. ;)

This one looks more like a little elephant. ;)

You can find him in this structure.

That is the main room of the cave.

Outside we take some pics.

Then we head to the Grutas de Arcotete. We are now above 3000m and the vegetation reminds me a lot about Austria, even tough we have total different trees and plants.

As always we have to pay first a fee to get to the areal.

We take a walk across a little mountain/hill. The grotto is right beneath us.

At the entrance of the grotto.

We also decide to do some zip lining. 6 € is like nothing... ;)

We will do 2 lines, this is the first and faster one.

And the second one.

Back in San Cristóbal we get your stuff and head to the bus terminal. On the way we grab some food at a local restaurant. I'm really hungry from walking all day long.

So we take the bus to Tuxtla, the capital of Chiapas.

Sadly there is no one in the tourist information at the bus terminal, so  we head to the down town to visit the tourist information there. Seems like they really want to sell us some stuff and tours, but we take a taxi to Chiapas de Curzo. After walking around some blocks, we find a posada that has watter and rooms with 2 beds. Kinda hard to find here... haha... Or we were just not lucky searching the right street. Asking people is always interesting... hehe...

Anyway, there is a festival going on here.

There is something like a ski lift. ;)

The little kid is put in a hammock. It moves around and tries to get attention...

Some street performers.

Also never have seen that layout for tables before. One straight line along the whole festival.

At last I want to try a fried banana...

Just booked a hotel for Mexico City....
Time so say good night...
