Hey hey, so we take the bus at 00:30 am in the morning. At the bus station I have a american coffee and play with my rubic cube. But it is so late that my movements are not really accurate any more.
The instant he bus takes of, the air condition is turned on. It is really way to cold. So after a few minutes I go in front to ask, if he can turn up the aircon a bit. Well, he does not know, but turning it of is good enough for right now. ;)
Well after 2 hours or so, other people get on the bus, because their bus broke. At the next bus terminal, there is a lot of confusion, because there are too many people on the bus. I manage to sleep a bit, or not, I'm not really sure...
As we get of in Palenque, we go to the Oxxo to buy some coffee. Then we head to the down town to see the city.
Breakfast.
We were told the Palenque ruins are opened at 8 am... So we head with the collectivo to the ruins, as we want to be among the first to enter the site... Being almost alone at such a place is just way better.
The place is almost empty. ;)
There is always something to play with...
We head again up to take some pics at the highest pyramid here. Up there a talk to people from Holland, who tell me, that I have to see the pyramids next to Mexico city.
Just because there are no people, have to post this pic....
This time we have actually time to explore the whole site. I sit down at a table or so inside the main structure.
It is also time to make some jumping pics. ;)
We meet Anita again. She took a private guide.
Afterwards we head to the jungle and take a walk for some time. But as it starts to rain more, we head back to the ruins. Well there are ruins everywhere, but not reconstructed.
So we start exploring the rest of the site. And head down to the other entrance. But this time not by accidence.
As it is raining, the waterfall look way better.
The next stop is the museum right next to the lower exit, about 400 meters away. It has really nice Maya pieces.
We take the collectivo back to the city. Time for some lunch.
The people in the restaurant tell us, that we should skip aquas azul, because of the rain it is really dirty now.
As we just miss a direct collectivo to San Cristobál, we have to take an other one. As always when traveling, we need nice people to talk to and laugh with them. The second bus ride was really fun...
Afterwards we head to the hostel and have a night walk through the down. Ricardo and me eat some corn. This time I take just salt and lemon on my corn. As mayonnaise, chilly, cheese, and other stuff does not fit my taste.
Oh, and of course writing my blog in bed.
