Mazamitla

Today we have to get up at 6 am, as we (Alvaro, Rosa, Ana and me) are traveling to Mazamitla today.
Mazamitla is one of the magic towns of Mexico, where they preserve the original architecture of the town. The name comes from Nahuatl and means "place where arrows to hunt deer are made".

We take 2 trains and then a bus to get to the down. 

First we go through the main square. Tourist guides try to sell us tours, like horse riding and such things.

But what we want to do first is having breakfast. There are little restaurants located at the second floor of a building.
Alvaro recommends me to eat Chilaquiles, which are really good. The tacos are with salsa and meet. And I have scrambled eggs as side dish.

 After the breakfast we are buying some fresh made juice.

 Time to start sightseeing ;) We start at the main square.

 Then we take a walk through the streets.

And up to the woods. In front of us we have to decide if we go left or straight. A lady suggested us going straight, because it is a short cut, and no one knows that path yet. The building and the area in front of us is also a paint ball arena. Funny fact on the side, there is a priest school right next to it and really a lot of monks/priests (do not know) are having a get together there. 

It seems everywhere in this down they are having really nice houses.

As we are at the entrance of the first woods, a woman charges us 5 pesos each. Well, none of us knows, if she is just freely getting money from us or not... Who knows.

There is also a piece of rope in Alvaros hand, so we try to get it out.

Afterwards we make your way to the next foods. It is said that there is also a water fall, but it takes about 3 hours to walk one way.... People are really bad trying to sell us horses for a ride. Reducing the prices really a lot. and also suggesting we could have horses even cheaper, if we would take 1 for 2 people.

It took us a while to get to the other woods. They are building really nice houses here.

Well, and what do we see, a sign telling us 1000m to the water fall. So next stop the water fall. ;)

After taking lots of pictures we need to walk back to the town again.

Because I break Rosas wooden stick, because I did flip it around, Rosa finds a new wizard staff to walk. ;)

Back in down we go to a Mexican restaurant. I'm having comida corrida. What is the main dish of the daily menu. The 3 others hamburgers. ;)

As talked about yesterday, after a night like that, start the next day with scrambled eggs. ;)
I like this relaxing time so much right now.... Oh and as you can see on the right I'm currently updating my blog....
And I'm so proud of my self, because I did finish my blog from last year, filled in all the missing days and will start to publish them, when I finished my Mexico trip. ;)

For lunch we went to a Chinese restaurant with Alvaros parents. The choices were very interesting, because the sushi was wrapped in breadcrumbs. I really liked the spring roles they offered. Most of the things offered where vegetables. Hmm I guess just out of curiosity I should go to an Chinese restaurant in every country I visit. ;)

After that Tania picked us up to have Rosca de reyes with her and her friends. ;)

We are also having real hot chocolate with it, as it is a tradition.

I'm the first one to cut and choose a piece. There are 2 little children hidden in the (sweet) bread. The consistency is kinda the one of an Austrian Striezel. And who ever has one of them hidden in their piece needs to throw a party next month. ;)

Afterwards also shrimp and beef tamal are served. They were frozen before.

As we are leaving really early tomorrow, we only stay for a bottle of Whiskey. Which we drink with Sprite or Soda.

Tlaquepaque

A new day starts, with toasted bread with butter and cinnamon on it. Really good, I have to say. ;)

Today we went to Tlaquepaque what is a really nice part in Guadalajara.

We are going to have ice cream.

People are lining up for ice skating. It's already the second time I see an outdoor ice skating place here in Guadalajara. It seems to be very popular.

The flair is really really nice and relaxing. There are tiendas everywhere, where you can buy local food or goods.

At night Alvaro and me are buying Captain Morgan, beverages and snacks. 
Tavo picks s up to go to Clakrs place.
At his place we go one floor up, on the roof. There is like a little store room or so in the back. Where we get out the table tennis table. I show them a game that we call Rundgangerl, where you run around the table and everyone can join the game. After a few games we play Cuban Domino and then later Risk. It was really fun. As always Risk ends up to be a mind game. We laugh, fight, make pacts and get drunk. Hahaha Oh, we also have to stop by at the liquor store to get more, as we run out of drinks. ;)

Ice Cream

Today is washing day, washing my cloths of course. ;)

This day we have a very good vegetable soup. With those filled tacos.

 And some more and more.

 Afterwards we go out to have some ice cream. This is vanilla cookie.

We wanted to go out with Tavo, but he has to go to his cousins birthday party.

So we watch man in black 3. Play Domino and hearts, drink tequila and eat quesadillas.

Tortas Ahogadas

A new day starts with cereals and bananas. ;)
Then we head into the city to get money and buy some stuff.
It's a really nice sunny day, so we walk around. Just awesome, its January and a t-shirt is enough to walk around. ;)

Later we head into the city to have some Tortas Ahogadas, a dish from Guadalajara.  When you eat it, it really has a strange look. ;)

Afterwards we walk through the city and have a flavored watter. I take strawberry, coconut and milk. The guy at the shop is really nice and puts more real coconut ans strawberries in my drink.

Last stop for today is the movie theater, we watch the hobbit.

Manzanillo to Guadalajara, breaking into the van

Yeaaahh, this morning the sun is up again ;)

As we are leaving today, we have to clean the whole house, which takes some time. ;)

Because it's sunny and really warm again, it is decided to take a one hour drive to a better beach at Cuyutlán. The colors of the 2 pics below are not 100% accurate, as the sand is black.

 

At our first spot they put up the red flags, so we walk a bit north for the yellow part, where we can  swim farther into the ocean.
As later the waves are getting bigger and better....

We are forming a group again to flip us up into the ocean. Making perfect back flip.

As the sand in the water is very uneven, it goes up and down like crazy, the current is really strong at some places.

Time for some more food.

After a nice day at the beach we make our way back home to Guadalajara.

As we stop at a OXXO (it is like a 7-Eleven). But the funny thing is, that Clark gets a call at the moment when he removes the key from the van. We all get out and the van locks itself. ;) When we try to open it again, the alarm goes off. Just awesome. ;) A guy who washes the windows of cars here asks us what happened, so we tell him and he takes of the get some wires. It takes him a couple of minutes to open the van. For his great service Clark gives him a nice tip. ;)

Last but not least, Alvaros mum lets me taste another traditional Mexican dish.

A rainy day in Manzanillo

Today everyone sleeps really long. Tavo is not even reacting when we touch him with frozen stuff.

We are having scrambled eggs, as this is like the perfect starter after a night like that...

Sadly it is raining, but that does not stop us to go to the beach.

 
The pelicans are not really caring about the people swimming. The pelicans are hitting into the sea to catch fish, as also people are fishing with rots and nets.

So it is raining, but it does not keep us from having a match against others on the beach, go swimming and flip each other up in the air to try to make back flips.

Starting from today we have a new drinking scream. It goes like Ha Hu Ha Hu Hu. Haha after doing it a few times also others out in the sea start to shout. haha.


As we all get hungry, Lazcano is making tuna salad.
